The book, which comes in both hard and soft covers, is complete with biographical details and a survey of Boo’s practice from 1995 to 2014. In addition, the 120-page full-colour plates offer a glimpse of the artist’s unique vision.

Two key aspects from Boo’s body of work are highlighted in the monograph: his varied painting techniques; and his diverse range of subject matter, which are reflections of his dialogues with the world. He has painted mundane domestic objects, car crashes, sacred temples for the gods, and interiors of mega shopping malls.

In recent years, Boo has also explored portraiture, and the monograph carries his series on the late Lee Kuan Yew. It also includes essays by Kwok Kian Chow, Michael Lee, Seng Yu Jin and Ian Woo meditating on Boo’s artistic expressions and preoccupations.

The monograph is published by Singapore-based Sunda Press, which focuses on local and Southeast Asian art and culture.
